The ancient art of Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a healing art which deals with energy (Chi) flowing around the internal energy centres of the body. It is initially practised to relax the mind and body, improving confidence, delaying ageing, relieving stress and promoting mental and physical harmony. There are also other health benefits, as it can help strengthen the immune system and alleviate conditions such as asthma, bronchitis and type 2 diabetes, all while improving co-ordination, posture and balance. Lesson exercises are in three sections - various warm-ups, meditations and Tai Chi Yang Style forms.

A thousand miles journey starts with the first step

Emphasis is placed on mental as well as physical exercise as students build their concentration. Tai Chi is one of the most beneficial and enjoyable ways of balancing mind, body and spirit, over many years of studying and teaching Tai Chi I have seen how it has attracted adults of all ages, from different walks of life. Those who stay with the practice and enjoy the challenge of the training are able to take their individual development to a higher level. The beginner's first challenge is learning how to move differently with grace and elegance. When the body is relaxed, movement is flowing and becomes strong. As the movement helps energy to circulate, the body becomes healthier and more supple.
